Janelle Daku completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2011. She began her career volunteering in Indonesia and providing lectures and resources to Surakarta Health Polytechnic. Upon returning to Canada she spent her next 9 years working with pediatric populations in a school based setting. She has extensive experience in numerous environments in Saskatoon, Calgary and San Diego California. Janelle’s passion for supporting women during the transition to motherhood began when she herself became a mother. She is a single mother who experienced the gap in services in regards to maternal mental health, infant feeding and parenting supports. She completed additional education courses in women’s health, perinatal health, postpartum health, breastfeeding and chest feeding support, sleep hygiene, attachment/bonding, oral motor therapy, myofunctional therapy, craniosacral therapy and Osteopathic Manual Therapy (pursing completion) and responsive parenting. She is a Beckman Oral Motor Therapist. She is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS),a TOTs Trained provider, meet the requirements for Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMHC), among other certifications or trainings such as perinatal loss and grief, pelvic function, tethered oral tissues (tongue and lip tie), torticollis specialization, Polyvagal theory assessment and intervention, Autism Specialist, attachment centered therapy and attachment and emotional regulation for children.
